Hello everyone!! Long time no talk! Sorry to have disappeared for a while, but I have been working on many different projects and most importantly to me, trying to get this album out! I want to first talk about the album since I’m sure that is the biggest question on all of your minds. I was so hoping to have at least the first single to radio in the US by now, but I got caught up once again with moronic people who promised one thing and did another. I so wish I could go into detail about all the crap I’ve been put through. Maybe one day. Anyway, the bottom line is that more of my time got wasted and I had to switch up the plan yet again and find necessary funds elsewhere. This is still going to be an independent release here in the US, and a major label release internationally. I can’t say what label yet, but when the international deal is closer to being finished I will let you all know.
The current plan is to put the single out in the US by August, with an American tour to coincide for the rest of the year. Then album out this Fall. I will then take the single and album internationally and tour the world. The business is sooooo beyond screwed up and bizarre right now that it’s become harder to properly put an album like mine out than it is to actually make it successful once it is out! Totally backwards. I keep telling myself that it’s taken this long for a reason, whatever that might be…I’m hoping it was to find the right people to get behind me and this album and I do believe we’ve finally found that. As soon as the deals become more firm, I will let you all know the details and then the exact timing of the release of my long, long overdue album. I’ve had to push through some pretty insane obstacles, but I am finally feeling truly close to this dream becoming a reality. So please be patient with me just a little bit longer, it will all be worth it in the end. On to the other news…
As many of you Brazilian fans may know already, I will be doing a quick full band tour there the beginning of next month (June). Unfortunately it isn’t to coincide with the release of the first single for the album, it’s simply to visit you all and play some more shows, which I’m dying to do. The rest of the world, please understand that I haven’t been playing shows in your countries because it is impossible to do so without an album out. However, Brazil is a place that luckily keeps having me back, and of course, I’m not going to miss out on that opportunity since I am hungry to perform. I miss Europe and Asia and all the other places I used to tour so much and I can’t wait to get back out there soon. But for right now it’s back to Brazil, and that’s fine with me cause I love the country and you Brazilian fans rock:) I’ve got an awesome new band and a new set and some new songs and am ready to make these few shows next month the best I’ve ever done. Check the tour dates section for updated shows. I do know I will be arriving in Brazil June 4th and leaving sometime around the 14th…possibly then to Singapore for some shows as well. There should be at least 5 shows throughout Brazil…and I am desperately trying to have one in Belo Horizonte! And I will of course be bringing EPs again and signing for you all after each show. I’ll also be doing some TV and press as well while I’m there. Oh and check my message board for information on Meet and Greets. I will also be finishing up that duet song in the studio while I’m there as well. Sadly, Marjorie Estiano will not be doing it with me for reasons out of my control. But, I was hooked up with this really talented artist in Brazil named Yasmin Gontijo. She already recorded her vocals on the track with me and it sounds awesome! More details on that soon.
Some of you may also know that I am working with Spanish Soap Star Gabriella Spanic on her new album. She has been a pleasure to work with and we are doing some pretty exciting stuff together. It’s still in the early stages, but I will let you all know more soon.
DVD update: It’s soooo close to being done! We’re just finishing up the mixes and all the video is already edited and put together. You are all really going to enjoy this thing once it’s in your hands, I’m very, very proud of it. Still not sure exactly when and how it will be purchasable, but when it’s totally finished I am going to do my best to make it immediately available to you all.
I have been writing for a bunch of other artists and projects. As soon as I get confirmation on some of them I’ll fill you all in. The song I submitted for American Idol, as the winner’s main single, made it all the way to the last second, but was unfortunately not chosen:( They may still use it though in some other way possibly, and we are, of course, hoping they do! I’d love for you all to hear it.
My new website is still a work in progress, so please bare with me and let me know your thoughts and comments by leaving them on the message board. When we get closer to the single/album release, there will be a whole lot more going on here and I have some exciting new ideas of how to include you all in every step of the journey:)

Its that time of year again for the amazing birthday book,

It’s that time again….Time for the annual Charity Birthday Project for Alex. This will be the 7th year and we have raised lots of money over the years. Thank you all for participating. This year’s charity, of course, will be Donate Life and all money will be added to The Alex Band Education Fund for Donate Life. For those of you new to this project, it is a birthday scrapbook of pages designed by each of you and placed in the book. The only stipulation is that you make a donation to Alex’s charity through me. This is a project that means a lot to Alex and he told me it is always the best gift he could ever get.
Over the years, through various projects, we have sent over $25,000 to charities in the name of Alex and The Calling. I really appreciate the way everyone participates and I know Alex is so proud of how his fans support the charity he believes in. Alex does read every single page of the Birthday Book every year and it really means the world to him. He has told me many, many times that it is his favorite gift and he really looks forward to receiving it. I am starting now in order to give everyone all over the world time to get their donations in. You can send them to my home address or send a donation through paypal. Just like the last six years, I will be compiling all the messages and giving Alex a birthday book from everyone who donated to the charity. The book this year is the same size as last year since that is easy to ship. It measures 8 and a half x 11 inches (A standard size sheet of paper) or 21,5 x 27,9 cm
If in doubt on the size make it a bit smaller than you think so none of your message has to be cut off. Since so many of you have pictures with Alex, it’s always nice to include that if you can so he can remember all the great people he met. You can email or snail mail your page to me. Alex has been sent so many wonderful and amazing logo’s for him to choose, it must of been very tough to decide a winner, but in the end he did, its bya fan from France named Keita,
he designed the logo by hand and now he is working on the graphic program with some red in it, so at the moment we just have a rough draft version to see but we will show you the end result when its finished
