Tour diary 30.06.08
Today was a press day, just Globo TV, the biggest network in Brazil. We were supposed to go by there for an hour or so to play a couple songs on some show…but of course it turned into a day long excursion. Globo TV is this massive empire in the middle of nowhere….like a Brazilian “Universal Studios”

It was hard to get out of bed….very hard. I wasn’t feeling so great. I packed up and went down to the hotel restaurant to get some food before we left. Literally the first bite of food swallowed and my stomach was like “noooo, I hate you”…..(Click the date or the little picture to read more…)

Wow, that was insane. Both exciting and frightening. Fun and scary. Strange and familiar. Like any tour it had its ups and downs…but this one also had its side to sides. We were on top of the world one minute, then being held hostage the next, seriously. It was a love-hate relationship for me and my stomach. A pure hate relationship for me and my body. But a true and overwhelmingly strong love relationship for me and, well, my brain. Yes, I’ve played some shows over the last 4 years while being stuck in this “solo album” never-ending cycle, but I haven’t TOURED…. And this was a TOUR. Albeit the most poorly put together mess of a tour I have ever done! But we didn’t care, we were having the time of our lives, even when our lives were being threatened at every turn. Let me walk you through the insanity of the last 3 weeks. Enjoy the ride:)

Tour diary 12.10.2004
This final tour diary begins with ‘Some days are extremely boring, read at your own risk’, but tour diaries are never boring! Alex has a full day of sleep to make up for all the lost zzzzzz in Brazil, it’s Jen’s birthday, but unfortunately Alex gets to spend about 10 sec’s with her due to terrible organisation at Munich Airport! He visits a very cold, but very exciting UK were he plays some awesome shows for us amazing UK fans 
The guys head back to Germany, then to Italy, Portugal, Amsterdam, France, and finally back to London to play their first sold out UK show at the Hammersmith, and what a show it was, ending this tour on a massive high note……………. which can be hard for someone with a voice as deep as Alex’s!!!!!

It’s off to Brazil, a country that loves Alex, and vice versa. This tour through Brazil features alot of weird sleeps time wise, but all in all they have a fun time, well its fun when they look back on it! As ever, the brazilian fans are amazing to Alex on and off stage. And the guys, after playing tons of shows and seeing so many fans, begin to prepare for a 3 weeks tour through Europe!

Time to recover from the Japanense trip, but what a trip it was!, the guys do some shows in Boston featuring some great artists such as Maroon 5, John Mayer, Lenny Kravitz, the list goes on. Then continue to tour through America playing radio shows here, there and everywhere! Of course the guys get a day off, but no details of what they got up to! The guys enjoy shopping in New York amongst other crazy things happening around them, but they get through it!

Its off to Seoul, South Korea were they find tons of awesome fans waiting for them, they completely lose track of time, Alex see’s himself as a giant head! The guys do a bunch of radio shows, and then head off to Japan for ‘more craziness’ (in a good way). In Japan the guys pack in some promo and radio shows for most days along with a few days off in between, They play one of they’re best ever gigs in front of an amazing Japanese crowd, and the Asia tour comes to a close as the guys head back to Boston.

The guys this month have been touring through America, and we meet Flarb! Everyone is amazed by the ‘pimpiness’ of they’re new tour bus, this entry Alex tells us about the press he is doing for the album, life on the road AND we get to hear about the video for ‘Anything’ featuring Jen. Alex also tells us a hectic radio show in Pontiac, and a fun day off in Toronto!

Alex gets to spend alot of time in LA, but sad to say, he catches the flu! But that doesn’t stop him from performing! In This entry he tells us the basics of each day through the past few weeks, always an entertaining read of course if Alex has anything to do with it.

In this entry, the guys continue touring through the likes of Sweden, Germany, Italy and much more, in Milan they encounter a very badly run airport! Or is it just Alex’s bad luck? Abit of both we think. Not Good. But the guys pick themselves up in the 2 days off, and they get to meet Hulk Hogan! and playing some really cool tv shows all over America, all in all, lets just say Alex gets up very early!

With the record now out, its been a busy month full of chops and changes, new band members, new music, new tour! The guys finish up the promo in America before beginning they’re tour at Buffalo. Alex has a day off were he bumps into some fans including Debbie, although the weather is dampening the spirits, the guys get to play in Rochester in a huge baseball stadium.

The Calling…Are BACK!, We catch Alex on the verge of the second album being released, and he tells us what he’s been up to this past year! He has been working with Santana, a mini promo tour promoting ‘Our Lives’, catching up with his family over in Germany, the guys get to travel to Rome, and After a hectic schedule in London the guys reach they’re final stop in Tokyo, Japan, and with the album just days away from being released, excitment is building…….

The guys are back! And in one of they’re most successful countries, Brazil! They talk about what they get up to during they’re time off, including Alex recording with the legendary Santana, the guys also discuss a very scary plane flight! In Brazil, they get to hang-glide and come in contact with a very nice dressing room…….for once, and a very funny hotel room in Rio! Alex also tells us about the lengths they take to eat a satisfactory breakfast for themselves! And much, and i mean much more, as usual always a treat.

Its off to Barcelona to collect an award, mixing with Bon Jovi, Moby, Marilyn Manson and many other stars at the MTV awards, then he catches up with his mom and 3 little brothers in Strasborg. Next stop “London” to pick up another award, and guess what? its raining!

Start up time in Sweden then off to London for “The Calling’s” first real sold out show, the crowd were astounding and the feel great factor amazing, next stop France and then off to rock it in Rio, many fun adventures in this diary, the guys nearly get electrocuted, bad food in Mexico and hoards of fainting girls! Such is life on the road.

In this entry, Alex tells us about the final week of July, they play some kick ass shows in Salt Lake City, then tour through California, San Francisco, Sidney, LA, Lawrence KS and Sioux Falls, a nice little poem also is featured, and the guys discuss the future, they wrap up the tour with a nice message to all us fans about American idol, and leave us feeling excited for what is in store in the future………

Alex tells us about his yucky smelly clothes! he tells us about a song he records for the movie ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ called ‘Keep Your Hands to Yourself’. Poor Alex is eating badly due to Dino teaching Aaron to be a vegetarian!, the guys tour through the UK play and in front of a London crowd, the biggest crowd they have ever played in front of, amongst other things of course……

Sean’s departure from the band leaves Alex feeling bizare, he gets to meet Steven Tyler on his birthday and perform “Walk this Way” with him on stage, he felt good Although after not knowing the words, how would he manage to perform it!!! Read on to find out……..

This diary lets us know about the DVD The Calling shot in Italy which sounds so much fun, The guys travel to San Francisco to enjoy the festivite’s, and they have a well deserved rest, spending time with they’re loved ones, although Alex gets the flu!! Then it was onto Atlanta to play in front of 100 thousand people, the guys hang out with good old Regis and Kelly where they play two songs!

Alex describes to us the crazyness of his life! And what he’s been doing the past few weeks, the wildlife of a night in Australia! He also travels to Vienna, Austria, a 22 hour flight!! Then to Italy, a place he is big in, he gets the weekend off and having grown up there, he enjoys it alot! Off to Amsterdam then to Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and finally England, phew!

Including a Karaoke story Aaron has an unfortunate accident with electricity, and the band also land in Australia to play a few shows for the ever amazing Aussie fans!
