Donate Life

“Most people have a charity that is close to their Heart,
Alex takes this one step further and wants to donate his.”

“Donate Life”
was founded in the U.S.A. by the transplant community in 1992 to educate the public about organ, eye and tissue donation and avoid duplication of effort. It serves as a national voice to inspire all people to save and enhance lives through organ, eye and tissue donation with a vision of an organ or tissue transplant for everyone in need.

Alex is extremely passionate about this cause and after a sold out Donate Life Rocks concert in L.A. 2006  decided to take on the formation of another organization to create awareness and so in the summer of 2007, Alex Band’s Donate Life Rocks was born

Alex Band’s Donate Life Rocks and the Hard Rock Café Corporation will team up yearly in order to produce concerts that will definately bring organ donation into the spotlight.

Denise Mancini Tripp, who has worked with United Network for Organ Sharing and Donate Life America for 16 years as a special events co-ordinator will be in charge of the day to day running of the project, however Alex is most certainly going to be involved in all aspects of the organization.

The Alex Band Education Fund for Donate Life

Debbie Hagerman, who runs Alex’s official fan site set up this fund to work towards educating the public on the importance of organ donation. Its mission is to get the word out to as many people as possible to try to make an impact on Donate Life’s nationwide goal to register 100 million people as organ donors. The plan is to have educational material available at Alex’s shows when he tours around the U.S.A. and hopefully this gesture may expand to other counties, this will help to encourage people to register as Organ Donors. Studies have shown that most people support Organ Donation but either don’t know how to register or have not taken the time to do so. A real difference could be made in adding to those registries. Giving others a second chance at life is a top priority for her, and she is hoping that with the fans and more awareness an impact can be made. The fund has been initially set up with the proceeds from the 2007 Alex Band Calendar Sale. $1,688.00 profile was realized on that sale, also Debbie does a birthday book for Alex which any fan can add to, the proceeds from this unique and special gift also go to Donate Life.
